# How to configure ticket sales dates

On go&dance, you can control separately **when a ticket is displayed** and **when it can be purchased**.

This distinction is important: a ticket can be visible on the event page while not being available for purchase.

## Visibility and availability: what's the difference?

Although they are related, **visibility** and **availability** serve different purposes:

| Setting | What does it control? |
| ---- | ---- |
| **Visibility** | When the ticket appears on the event page. |
| **Availability** | When the ticket can be purchased. |

For example, you can display a ticket in advance so attendees know it will be available soon, while setting the sale to begin on a specific date.

## Configure visibility

**Visibility** determines when the ticket is displayed to users.

To configure it:

1. Go to **Event page → Tickets**.
2. Edit the ticket you want to configure.
3. Under the **General** tab, find the **Visibility** section.
4. Select the option you need.

You can keep the ticket visible, hide it, or set a period during which it will be visible.

If you select **Set dates**, you can specify:

- **Visible from:** the date and time from which the ticket will appear.
- **Visible until:** the date and time from which the ticket will no longer be displayed.

You do not need to set both limits if you only need to control the start or end of the visibility period.

## Configure sales availability

**Availability** determines when customers can purchase the ticket.

To configure it:

1. Edit the ticket.
2. Go to the **Advanced** tab.
3. Find the **Availability** section.
4. Configure the dates and times you need.

You can set:

- **Available from:** the date and time from which the ticket can be purchased.
- **Available until:** the date and time from which the ticket can no longer be purchased.

You can also set only a start date or only an end date.

Outside this period, the ticket can remain visible if you have configured it that way, but **it cannot be purchased**.

## Example: announce a ticket before sales begin

Imagine you want to announce a Full Pass on **September 1**, but you want sales to open on **September 15** and close on **November 30**.

You could configure:

| Option | Setting |
| ---- | ---- |
| Visible from | September 1 |
| Available from | September 15 |
| Available until | November 30 |

Between September 1 and 14, users will be able to see the ticket, but they will not yet be able to purchase it.

From September 15 onward, it will be visible **and available for purchase**.

## Hiding a ticket is not the same as closing sales

Keep this distinction in mind when you want to stop selling a ticket.

If you want users to continue seeing that the ticket exists but no longer be able to purchase it, you should change its **availability**.

If you do not want it to appear on the event page, you should change its **visibility**.

This allows you to manage both behaviors independently.

## Save your changes

When you are finished, click **Save** to apply the new settings.

Before publishing or announcing a new sales phase, we recommend reviewing both the ticket's **visibility** and **availability** to make sure it appears and can be purchased on the dates you expect.
