# How to configure scanning devices

To validate tickets for your event using the go&dance app, you first need to **link the phones or devices you will use for access control**.

You can add multiple devices to the same event, for example, if you have different entrances or several people will be scanning tickets at the same time.

## 1. Download the app

Go to **Administration > Scanning devices**.

From this section, you can download the go&dance app for **Android or iOS** free of charge.

Install the app on each device you want to use to manage access to the event.

## 2. Add a device

Under **Administration > Scanning devices**, click **+ Add device**.

A **QR code** and an alphanumeric code will be displayed to link the device to the event.

Open the go&dance app on the device you want to use and:

1. Scan the **QR code** displayed on the screen, or manually enter the code shown.
2. Confirm the linking process in the app.
3. Once the process is complete, the device will automatically appear in the list of devices authorized for the event.

> The code displayed when you click **Add device** is used to link the phone to that event. It is not a ticket QR code.

## 3. Decide what information the device can see

When adding a device, you can enable the following option:

**“Show the number of tickets sold and number of tickets scanned”**

If enabled, the person using that device will be able to view this information in the app during access control.

You can change this option later.

## Manage linked devices

From **Administration > Scanning devices**, you can view all devices that have access to the event.

When you select a device, you can view information such as:

- Device name.
- Operating system.
- Device model.
- Linking date.

You can also **change the device name**, change whether it can view the number of tickets sold and scanned, or **delete it** when you no longer want it to be used for access control at that event.

Once your devices are configured, you can use them to **scan ticket QR codes and validate attendee access**.
