# How to activate and configure affiliates for my event

The **go&dance Affiliate Program** allows you to increase your event's visibility through go&dance's network of promoters and professionals.

As the organizer, you only need to **activate the program and define the conditions you want to offer**. From that point on, **go&dance manages the relationship with affiliates**, informs them about available events, tracks the sales they generate, and pays their commissions.

To configure it, go to **Marketing → Affiliates** within your event.

## Activate the affiliate program

Before activating the program, you will need to specify the general conditions you want to offer affiliates:

- **Discount**: the discount the buyer will receive when using an affiliate's code.
- **Commission**: the amount the affiliate will receive for each ticket they sell.

Once you have defined the conditions, click **Activate affiliate program**.

From that point on, your event can become part of the go&dance affiliate network.

> The more attractive the conditions you offer, the more appealing your event will be to affiliates and the more likely they will be to promote it.

## What does go&dance do?

Once the program is activated, **go&dance manages the affiliates**.

go&dance promotes your event within its affiliate network, provides the necessary mechanisms to track the sales generated by each affiliate, calculates the corresponding commissions, and **pays commissions directly to affiliates**.

Therefore, unlike promoters you add directly to your event, **you do not need to settle or pay go&dance affiliates yourself**.

## Configure discounts and commissions

You can change the program conditions by going to **Marketing → Affiliates → Edit conditions**.

You can set general conditions using:

- **Default discount**.
- **Default commission**.

Both the discount and commission can be configured as a **fixed amount (€)** or a **percentage (%)**.

These conditions will be applied by default to your event's tickets.

## Configure different conditions for each ticket

Under **Custom settings by ticket**, you can set a different discount or commission for specific ticket types.

For example, this allows you to offer one set of conditions for a **Full Pass** and different conditions for a **Hotel** ticket or **Party Pass**.

If a ticket has specific settings, they will take precedence over the general affiliate program conditions.

## How are affiliate commissions paid?

For sales generated by affiliates, **go&dance handles the payment of commissions directly**.

The process works as follows:

**Buyer → go&dance → Organizer and Affiliate**

When a sale is attributed to an affiliate, go&dance calculates the corresponding commission according to the conditions you have configured.

The organizer **does not need to pay the affiliate afterwards**. go&dance will deduct the commissions generated by affiliates directly from the **organizer's event settlement** and will handle the corresponding payments to affiliates.

> **Important:** under the go&dance Affiliate Program, **go&dance** is responsible for managing affiliates and paying their commissions. The organizer only needs to activate the program and define the conditions they want to offer. Any commissions generated will be deducted from the event settlement.
